
I have become borderline obsessed with MidJourney, a platform for viewing and creating AI-generated artwork. You just tell it what you want and it will create a picture. Actually, it will automatically create four different pictures, which you can select or further refine. You can specify not only the subject, but the style (photo-realistic, oil painting, watercolor, etc.) You can even request it match the style of prominent artists. Anatomical drawing by Leonardo da Vinci? No problem. Oil painting of a spooky crypt filled with skulls, illuminated by candlelight, in the style of William Etty? You bet!
As impressive as it was, MidJourney just raised the bar by adding a “Style Tuner” function. You can tune a style by setting up to 128 different parameters, and then apply that style code to anything you generate. With 128 different parameters, there are more possible styles then there are stars in the observable universe.
